It’s Friday

It’s Friday! Finally!! My kidlets have an assembly this afternoon and my daughter is singing a song. I’ve decided to surprise her and take the afternoon off to come watch. She’s going to be so excited.  We don’t have much planned for this weekend. I’m thinking about getting out into my front flowerbed. It’s still pretty much frozen solid but the snow is melted so I should be able to clean it up a bit and get it ready to be planted. That is if it ever warms up here.

My husband and I have been talking about refreshing our front yard. (Well I’ve been talking and he’s been listening) It has zero curb appeal. Check it out. Please don’t be too cruel. (And can someone please explain to me why Google always comes around on garbage/recycling day???)

Oh My! It actually looks worse than I thought. We’ve done some updating/cleaning since this was taken but not much. Our backyard has seen most of the improvements over the years. This summer my plan is to give the front yard a facelift.  I want to paint our house and I have the perfect colour for our front door picked out. I’m so excited but I want to keep it a secret until it actually gets painted.

I’m thinking about putting in a butterfly or herb garden in the front of the lawn and I’d like to plant a hedge or something along our neighbours driveway (on the right side of the picture). I am by no means a landscape designer (or whatever they are called) so if anyone out there has some other suggestions I would love to hear them.
